Now that Full Circle Family has a land-base, who owns it?

In the Spring of 2014, the Full Circle Family bought the land and farmhouse where we've been facilitating the Sharing Gardens since 2010. We moved into the farmhouse in early summer of 2014. (LINK to post about the farmhouse renovations.)

The land and farmhouse are owned by the Church/community itself. It was purchased in the name of Full Circle Family Church. The land and buildings and all their contents are shared among the community's full members. (LINK to Steps to Membership.)

As long as you are a member of the Full Circle Family, you will have access to all that is owned collectively -- as you have need.  Private ownership can lead to hierarchies and class-inequality among members.  This is one of the many reasons our community/church is founded on the principle of 'holding all things common".

The property cannot be sold for individual gain. If the community disbands, or ever has fewer than two members, provisions are made - in our By Laws - for the assets to be transferred to another organization formed "for similar purposes".

Developing a side business for extra income

Q: I'd like to join your community. I was thinking of continuing to develop a little side-business so I could have some extra spending money. Would this be OK?
A: We're interested in creating communal businesses together. ALL income must be generated through communally operated services and industries, and the standard of living must be the same for all. As we establish an income stream, and communal businesses, it's possible that someone would have a job independent of communal industries. If so, he or she would contribute earnings to the common purse and all bills/needs would be covered out of that including a monthly stipend which you may spend however you like. 

Any businesses created by the community will be in alignment with our core values, i.e. environmentally conscious, service-oriented, helping people transition into a  life-style that is gentler on the Earth.
